Murasake Anime, Peter Palma, & Saint Anime: Get in touch with us ASAP. We've been trying to get in touch with you so that we can send your masters out to you, but your email addresses are bouncing back our messages. As of Feb. 23, 2001, I still haven't heard from any of you. I first posted this notice more than a month ago. If any of you reading this are friends with any of the above people, please ask them to get in touch with us. Arigato.
04/06/2002: After a couple of years I am STILL pissed about CPM ripping of our AIKa scripts. Just so that new visitors to our site can read about it, I'm reposting what happened. Here it is: I've got a bit more to say on the CPM issue. We sure got pissed off when we saw the Central Park Media version of AIKa!! Those dicks totally ripped off our script and had the nerve to take credit for the translations. Hmm... aren't commercial companies always saying they do it better than us fansubbers? Well, obviously our work was good enough for them to use. Actually, they knew they couldn't do it any better, that's why they ripped off our script. We formed Team Abcb because we really love anime and wanted to expose fans outside of Japan to different series that they wouldn't otherwise see. In doing so, we hoped that the domestic companies would see their popularity and pick up the rights to officially distribute them. At first we were glad to be a part of bringing attention to such titles as AIKa and Sakura Diaries. Then we saw the Central Park Media version of AIKa (Trial 2) and my opinion of them became one of disgust. If you have any doubts to my claims that they ripped off our script, all you have to do is compare our fansub version (which came out WAY before CPM's version) to theirs. Didn't get a chance to get the fansub version before distribution stopped? No problem, our scripts for Trials 1 & 2 are still online here at our webpage. Be your own judge. Coincidences can happen, BUT in this case, there were way too many similarities. Of course, they changed some words around to try and hide the fact that they were using our scripts. But, if you look at the two versions, it is so obvious that they plagiarized. Just one example: there's a certain line that I kept awkwardly phrased because even our translator was unsure of the line. CPM kept that line nearly identical to ours (if you want to know the exact line, just email me). What are the chances of their "professional" translator leaving the line the same way? Slim. Some other examples are when Hagen is explaining the existence of Rahg to Aika... I took many liberties when editing the translation so that it would sound more coherent in English. So, in certain points I slightly strayed from the original translation to accomplish this. Incredibly the "so-called" translator for CPM took these same liberties in the translation. This is more than coincidence, this is outright STEALING. And one last one... Aika's outfit is composed of Ultranate metal. I know you're wondering what's the big deal about that. The big deal is that I MADE UP the spelling for that word. Yet, CPM spells it exactly the same way. We're not just pissed because they stole our script. They are taking credit for OUR hard work AND they're making money off of it. CPM should either pull the current version of AIKa until they release a version that's truly theirs (I'm not gonna hold my breath) or at least give Team Abcb the credit that we deserve (hell will freeze over first). Of course, they won't do any of that stuff, but by speaking out, at least you all will know what slimeballs they are. Anyway, enough of that crap. It just pisses me off to even think about it again. We'll have a project update next weekend.
04/03/2002: Damn... what a long lapse between updates, huh? Things are starting to get somewhat back to normal here at Team Abcb. More updates to come... for now, enjoy the new Babe of the Week ^_^
06/25/2001: Finally had time to update the page! Due to Team Abcb's super busy schedule now, there will be a couple changes coming soon. Anyway, we've updated the contest page... answers and winners have been revealed. And our "Babe of the Week" page has also been updated. I know many of you have been waiting for that one ^_^. Okay, now for party time. Next week, June 28th, at Club Soho... One Voice will be performing live. Those of you in the clubbing scene should know who these ladies are, and if you don't, then come get to know them. I LOVE their songs. If you want to get on the guest list for this event, just email me before noon on Wednesday. And to kick off the 4th of July celebrations there are TWO events on July 3rd! Damn... which one should we go to? First up, International Groove and DMK will be putting on a party at the Mayan. Over 2000 people will be there and it will DEFINITELY kick some ass. On the same night, ProofPositive is putting on an event at the Sunset Room. This place will also be jam-packed. So, we don't know which one we'll be at, but hope to see you all there at either one ^_~. And damn! AX is just around the corner! We'll be premiering the live-action Hana Yori Dango movie there! Stay tuned on the time and location. Late.
05/24/2001: Yes, Team Abcb is still alive ^_^. I'm sure many of you have been wondering about that. Both Daniel and I started new jobs and we just haven't had time to sub, update our page, or even party that much. But, now that we've adjusted... we're BACK! We'll have subbing updates this weekend, but for now let's catch up on the partying! Tonight we'll be at Q's in Pasadena for Club FABULOUS. Come on out and help us celebrate our return. Then tomorrow, Friday night, we'll be at Club Lingerie. Saturday we are going to hit Miyagi's. But, Sunday night is up for grabs... there are TWO badass parties and we can't decide which one to go to! One is at the legendary Mayan and it's put on by ProofPositive. It's ALWAYS fun there so it's a sure bet. The other one is a bash put on by YOLK magazine and it'll be at the Sunset Room in Hollywood. Do any of you read YOLK? It's pretty cool. Anyway, there will be wall-to-wall Asian celebs there and I definitely have to continue my saga with Kelly Hu. Oh wait! You guys didn't know about that? In between updates, we were at a celebrity gala in Beverly Hills. It ROCKED. I'll write an update on that this Sunday along with the subbing update. Anyway, that's it for now. The babe of the week and the subbing status will be updated on Sunday. One more thing... DO NOT email me at MegaPlayboy@sexilicious.com anymore. Their server crashed and ALL my saved emails have been lost. So, if you've emailed me and haven't gotten a reply back then re-send your email to my new addy at: NeverEnd@usa.net
03/20/2001: Damn, what a weekend! Friday we kicked it at Miyagi's, but Saturday was when everything blew up. We were at the Voodoo Lounge for the Lingerie Show and at first things were SWEET. We walked in through VIP cuz one of our homegirls was one of the models for the show and she hooked us up. Thanks, Vien! And then I thought it would be the perfect night cuz I ran into a girl that I hadn't seen for about two years. I first met her at Haagen-Daaz and she was just 19 then, so she couldn't club yet. Anyway, I thought the night would rock cuz now she was 21 and she could party, too. BUT, there always has to be drama in L.A. What I wasn't prepared for was that she would be friends with a girl that I had hit up at the Shark Club a month earlier. Man, I think I need to go party in another city for awhile. While it's cool to party here, it can get complicated when two girls you know are in the same party crew. Yare yare. And to top it off, we get back to find that our website was shutdown by Tripod, and now it's back up. And then the sh*t hit the fan with the California energy crisis and we had a bunch of rolling blackouts. Then my phone line was down til today. Geez... well, at least the lingerie show itself was cool. And took Monday off to go to the beach. We'll have a subbing update this weekend. Late.
03/13/2001: Finally! The sun is back in L.A. Time to celebrate. Thursday we'll be at Q's. Friday, we're gonna have a change of pace and hit Sky Sushi. The place has a new promoter and we heard it is SWEET. And on Saturday, come join us at Voodoo Lounge for the lingerie fashion show and afterparty. And for you Bay Area people, my friend Mark is renting out a club on March 24th to celebrate his birthday. It's gonna ROCK. Click here to check out the flyer for the party. Email me asap if you want to go and I'll put you on the guest list so you'll get in free.
03/08/2001: Good news for all you Slam Dunk fans out there... the translator has sent over the translations for episode 16. As soon as we're done subbing it, we'll be able to release the fourth volume. And to all you people who keep coming to our page and then complain about it on fansubs.net, we just want to tell you to come say it to our faces at Anime Expo this year. You can recognize us from our pics. Click here to see them. You're quick to judge and post sh*t about us. So, let's see if you have the guts to say it to us in person. For any of you who missed the threads and would like to read them, I've reposted them on our own message board. I'm sure you can still find the threads on the fansubs.net site also.
03/06/2001: Subbing update: We are just awaiting the translation for episode 16 of Slam Dunk. We're already done with 13-15, so once we get the last episode, we'll release that volume. We're done with Sentimental Journey 5, 7, & 8. We need to resolve some translation holes in episode 6 and are still trying to reach the translator. Our translator on the HYD live-action movie says she'll finish it over her spring break. And we can always use more translators. If you know of any, contact us.
02/28/2001: With February coming to a close I'm gonna update y'all on March events. Tomorrow will be the bomb-ass party thrown by Strata at the Mayan. Then the very next day, March 2nd, we'll be at the Mayan AGAIN for the click2asia.com party. On March 3rd, Voodoo Lounge will be transformed into a Mardi Gras atmosphere complete with Brazilian dancers and a bead contest. For those of you familiar with Mardi Gras tradition, if a girl flashes her breasts, she'll get beads to hang around her neck. At Voodoo on Saturday, the girl with the most beads at the end of the night will win $500. Okay then, don't miss that one ^_^. Damn, another three days of back-to-back partying. March 10th, will be "The LOOK" model search after-party at Voodoo Lounge. And March 17th, come kick it with us at the peek-a-boo lingerie fashion show after-party. This event will also be at Voodoo Lounge. These are just the planned events. You'll still find us at Q's, Miyagi's, and Shark Club on various nights. Happy clubbin'.
02/25/2001: Even though the weather has really sucked here lately, I'm still managing to have some bad-ass weekends ^_^. It rained last night, but I sure wasn't going to freakin' stay home on a Saturday night. And it was a good decision cuz it turned out to be one of the PHATTEST nights ever! We started off by hitting Kreung Thed, where my friend had the hookup with some Thai actresses that were visiting Hollywood. Man, these girls were gorgeous! After that, we all rolled to Miyagi's where we kicked it and had some drinks. It's weird because it was raining, so you'd think it wouldn't be as packed, but I had never seen so many hot chicks there before. There was an Asian girl and a Latin girl dancing together on top of the bar, but security made them get down when one of them flashed her chest. Bummer. Anyway, around midnight, I ran into a friend who was on her way to participate in a thong contest at the Voodoo Lounge. So, we left the actresses with my friend (hoping he could handle ten girls by himself), and took off to Voodoo. Hey, pretty girls... thongs... it's a no-brainer. Right when we got there, Sisqo's "Thong Song" was thumping so we were in the party mood right away. And it ROCKED. Even after the contest was over, girls took off their skirts or jeans and just danced in their thongs. The cool thing about Voodoo Lounge is that their security guys aren't as strict, so they let the girls do whatever they wanted. Around 2am, the night still wasn't over ^_^. We headed over to Hollywood Thai for some eats and karaoke. Damn, I felt like we were in the movie "Swingers" because we hit like four places within a couple hours. Just another night in L.A. ^_^ And for those of you that wrote in complaining about these party updates, I actually got some emails from people asking me NOT to stop because they like hearing about our parties. So there.
02/18/2001: Damn, it's Sunday already. But, that means it's time for dim sum so it's cool. Okay then, there's gonna be a BOMB-ASS event on March 1st, so I'm giving you all plenty of notice to gear up for it. It's the grand opening of STRATA at L.A.'s legendary club... the Mayan. Those of you who have read our previous updates know how awesome this place is. If you've seen "A Night at the Roxbury", the Mayan is where they filmed the scene where the guys finally get into the Roxbury and meet up with the club owner. In real life, the club is even BETTER than in the movie and it's filled wall-to-wall with the hottest people in L.A. Hell, the hottest people ANYWHERE cuz L.A. is where it's at! It's about 95% Asian, but you don't have to be Asian to come party with us. The DJs will be Donald Glaude and Plastik. If you need directions or want to get on the guest list, then email Joey asap. Late.
02/13/2001: OH DAYAMN!!! I wasn't going to update the page until after this weekend, but I HAD to do it tonight. To all of you who keep asking me why I keep hyping up L.A. so much... all I have to say is that Life is sooooo F*CKING good here! Tonight, I was just kicking it with my friends having some drinks and singing some karaoke when three import models walk in... Sheila, Jaime, and Meryl. I've seen one of them at a few parties, but never got a chance to talk to her. My friends tell me that this is my chance to hit it. I go up just to say hi, but end up kicking it with them all night. Sheila is the one I want. A total Korean goddess. She drinks Sapporo, while I drink Kirin. By the end of the night, she says she can't wait to do this again, so she gives me her number. The funny thing is... Jaime jumps in and gives me hers too. Maybe it's a girl-competition thing. Who knows? But, I'm not gonna argue. Where else could this happen besides in L.A.? Yeah, yeah, I know what some of you are thinking... like that one guy on fansubs.net that tried to reprimand us for bragging. I kept saying that I wasn't bragging. But, you know what? This time... HELL YEAH I'm bragging! If YOU hooked up with two import models in one night (and a week night at that!), wouldn't YOU be bragging! Hell yeah, you would. Sheeyit. Aight then... peace. And everyone have a great V-Day tomorrow, k? It's Pinay Princess time for me. Let's rock.
02/12/2001: What's up people... it's Joey in da house ^_^. Man, this energy crisis in California freakin' sucks, but it's not gonna stop us from having fun. First of all, I wanna wish you all an early Happy Valentine's Day! cuz I won't be around on Wednesday to update the page. And to celebrate V-Day, we've decided to have another Team Abcb contest! I think all of you will like this contest cuz it's fun. You'll find the link up top. And we also have a special V-Day update of the babe of the week section. Okay then, party-time cuz it's a busy week. Tuesday: come join Team Abcb at Oiwake in Little Tokyo for some drinks and karaoke. Wednesday: V-Day, baby! I wonder how much chocolate I'm gonna get? ^_^ Thursday: join Team Abcb at The Arena in Hollywood for Asian Groove's Model Night! All the hottest girls will be there to dance the night away, including Kristen Muranaga, Jasmine Fox Li, Jocelyn Diaz, and Aiko Tanaka! Friday: we're gonna kick things off at Dave & Buster's early in the evening, then head off to Miyagi's to finish off the night. After that, some afterhours eats at Nice Cafe in Monterey Park. Saturday: we'll either be heading off to Vegas if one of us is okay to drive, or The Sunset Room in Hollywood. Sunday: man, I'm gonna have to use this day to rest, but maybe dim sum at Princess Garden before I do. DAMN! This is gonna be a hell of a bomb-ass week!
02/08/2001: Oh HELL yeah! Last night was one of the best nights at Q's EVER. For those of you that haven't been there yet... what are you waiting for? The night already started off great when we hooked up with some KD Phi girls. For those of you that don't know, KD Phi is an Asian sorority with chapters all over the place. Anyway, these girls KNOW how to shake it. But, it gets even better. The best part of the night was dancing with Francine Dee. She is soooo sweet. What? Some of you don't know who Francine is? What the...? She's one of the top import models in the scene. Hmm... you know what? I'm gonna make a new section in the Team Abcb webpage. It'll be called "Babe of the Week." I'll put the link up top. And Francine will be our first featured babe. Enjoy. Shoutouts to: Gina (I wanna lick lick lick you from your head to your toes ^_~), Dawn, Vanessa, Wendy, Sherry, Janelle (damn, I know too many Janelles), and of course, Francine. Oh yeah... fansubbing... right now we're just waiting for translations to Slam Dunk ep. 16, the HYD live-action movie, and for our Sentimental Journey translator to FINALLY get back to us on some translation holes in episode 6.
01/28/2001: What can I say? It's all about Le Prive. Last night was just TOO badass. If any of you are ever in L.A., do yourself a favor and go to a club called Le Prive. It has one of the best dance floors in town and the decor is top-notch. As for the women... I dare you to find a girl there who isn't hot. Even the least pretty girl there would be the best-looking girl at any other club. The music ranges from hip-hop to trance, and there are slow songs in between sets, so you can cuddle up with that cute chick you just met. It's a Korean club, so it's mostly Asian, but this place is so cool that Hollywood stars go there all the time. One of my friends saw Nick Cage there the other night. But, if you go, roll with a lot of friends cuz it isn't cheap. That's why we only hang out there like once a month. You'll have to throw down at least $500 per table, but believe me, it's worth it ^_^. All right then... shoutouts to: Helen, Anne, Lydia, Angela, and Julia. Seeya at Garden.
01/20/2001: Oh, DAMN!! Life doesn't get much better than this. And the weekend is barely starting. For those of you that judge us for partying too much... all I have to say is: come hang out with us for just one night, Team Abcb style, and you'll never go back. Thursday ROCKED at UCLA. We decided to go to a party there instead of Q's for a change of pace. Once a Bruin, Always a Bruin! Shoutouts to Charlene and Carolyn. And last night at Miyagi's was one of the best EVER. Dude, ANY night when you can unconsciously stare at a woman's cleavage, but instead of her getting offended, she comes up and says, "Hi!" is a DAYAMN good night! Selena, you're the bomb, girl. It just seemed like everyone was in the groove last night. And ANY night when you have two FINE Asian girls jump up on the bar and not only dance, but unbutton their shirts so that their bras are showing is a DAYAMN good night! SCANDALOUS!!! My favorite bra color is officially electric blue now. *sigh* I'm NEVER moving out of L.A. Shoutouts to Gracie, Janelle, the other Janelle, Jen, Selena, Cynthia, Lena, and our party crew! Okay then, tomorrow night is Shark Club again! What the...!
01/12/2001: Oh HELL yeah!! Shark Club kicked ass tonight!! Man, I have to say that whoever said that girls can endure more than guys is absolutely correct. It was freakin' cold tonight, like 50 degrees out! And it's a long walk from the car to the club. I know that those of you on the East Coast must be laughing at us and saying, "That's not cold, you wusses!" But, it was uncharacteristically cold for California. Anyway, we were freezing our asses off even though we were wearing coats. But, the girls were walking around in mini-skirts and either tube-tops or backless tops, and they were acting like it was no big deal. Well... I have to say that certain parts of their anatomy revealed that they were actually cold, but damn, they sure did a good job of acting like the cold didn't bother them. So, I give props to all you women out there who will sacrifice comfort in the name of looking DAMN fine ^_^. And you women have my respect for how much you can endure. I mean... only a woman would have the toughness to bear the pain of childbirth. Us guys would freakin' faint. I'm getting woozy just thinking about it. Shoutouts to Mai Tih (I hope I spelled it right) and Eileen. Yes, I respect you two, also.
01/10/2001: Okay, people. The partying starts tonight, so get ready... for the launch. Tonight, Team Abcb will be at Boomerock in Old Town Pasadena. Tomorrow night, we'll be at Q's. Friday night it's time to go down and represent in OC, so you'll find us at the Shark Club. The girls there can DANCE. I highly recommend joining us there. And to cap off the weekend, we'll be at either Miyagi's or Voodoo Lounge on Saturday night. Afterwards we're heading to Club Blue for afterhours, we usually get there around 3am. Okay then. Let's do this ^_^
01/02/2001: Happy New Year! New Year's Eve in Vegas was SWEET! But, the drive back was crazy. Anyway, I hope you all had a great time, too. Got some project updates for you. Touch Movie: Miss Lonely Yesterday is done! And it's being sent out to distros and sponsors. Almost ready to work on Slam Dunk 13-16. The translator just has one more episode to go. Too freakin' tired to think right now, so I'll write more later. But, shoutouts to the Vegas girls: Janelle, Rain, Ashlyn, Lana, Julie...
12/30/2000: Since I'll be in Vegas on New Year's Eve, just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year ahead of time. Party hard, but stay safe. 2001, baby ^_^
12/22/2000: Oh DAMN! Son of a...! Q's was OFF THE HOOK last night! For those of you that were there, you know what I'm talking about. Everyone from UCLA, UCI, Cal, hell... ALL the hottest people from California were there last night. For those that missed out, not to worry... the party continues next Thursday and the week after, too. Cuz everybody wants to rock before classes start up again. Time for some shoutouts: Annie, you'll always be my "out of the blue"/system f girl ^_^. No, I didn't talk to you just cuz I KNEW you were an import model. But, I'll admit that I kind of SUSPECTED it ^_~. I mean red tube-top, leather pants, drop-dead gorgeous face, hot body. What's a guy supposed to think? ^_^ Nice tattoos, by the way. And Jingai, what can I say? Leather mini-skirt, leather tube-top. Heaven. I'm glad you moved here from Florida ^_^. I'm out until the next update. And for all of you that live in L.A., DON'T MISS IT next week!
12/18/2000: It's been awhile since we've had an update. So, I've got some good news for you. We've finally found another translator for the Hana Yori Dango live-action movie. This should be SWEET. Still working on Touch and volume 2 of Sentimental. Things slowed down a bit cuz Daniel got a job (freakin' finally). Also, we've been out lately. Shoutouts to our newest Miyagi's girls: Vivian and Jeanette. And also, Panisa and Holly, our favorite Hooter's waitresses. The Pasadena grand opening was pretty fun ^_^
11/28/2000: Okay, this coming Friday we're gonna party the weekend away again at Club Soho!! And this time it's for a good cause even, and Team Abcb is volunteering to help out with this one. We're having a toy drive to help out the kids in our community. Anyone who brings a toy to the club will get in for free! You can have fun partying and do a good deed all at the same time! Email me if you want more info.
11/26/2000: DAMN! Nitrous ROCKED! The cool part was that there was a fashion show going on in another section of the club. At first it was roped off, but after they saw how much our party kicked ass, they let all of us in to watch the show! Then after the fashion show was over, all the runway models came down to dance with us! DAMN! Life doesn't get much better than this! Shoutouts to some lovely ladies we met that night: Trinh, Maya, and Jen ^_^
11/24/2000: Okay, boys & girls. Tomorrow night (Saturday) is NITROUS, put on by ProofPositive. I told you guys about this one since the beginning of the month. So, no excuses. It'll be in Downtown LA at Club 333. The address is 333 South Boylston. For directions, call: 213-989-7979. 9pm-1am will be Hip Hop. 1am-3am will be trance. Don't miss out on this one. Anybody who's ANYBODY will be there tomorrow. And if you see us, come say hi. Team Abcb rolls deep, so you can't miss us. Late.
11/22/2000: Let's DO this! Damn, I know this is short notice (I thought I posted about these parties already!), but there are THREE parties tonight. One is at The Palace. Import Tuner is throwing this one and it runs from 9pm - 6am! They're going to have an import model search competition there, so it should be tight! Second one is at The Mayan, put on by International Groove and DMK. This one is DEFINITELY gonna rock and it runs from 9pm - 4am. And the third one is at Vesuvius. Don't actually know the people throwing this one, the chicks we met at Shark Club say their friends are promoting it, so we'll drop by and check it out. Email me if you want details, but do it soon! I'm gonna roll at about 9pm to get some dinner with my crew first. Late.
11/11/2000: Shark Club in OC, baby!! Um, shake shake it! Um, Um, shake shake it! You all know that song, right? ^_^. Damn it rocked last night. Linh, Miyoko, and Linda... it's Alice Deejay time. And to our CSU Fullerton girls... DAYAMN, now that's what I call FREAKIN'. Sh*t, I've almost forgotten this is a subbing page. Umm... yeah... we're gonna try to make some time to sub this weekend. Touch is almost done.
11/08/2000: Tonight, the site was Boomerock in Pasadena. Props to all those who came out to join us for some drinks. Especially to... Helen, Jane, and Wila.
11/05/2000: Voodoo Lounge! This is Team Abcb's new Saturday night hangout. The dance floor there is badass. And the music kicks ass. It's right near Korea Town, so if you're in the area on a Saturday, come check it out. The chicks there are some of the best in LA. To the three girls we met that night... Lisa, Staci, and Gina... we LOVE scandalous dancing ^_~
11/04/2000: DAYAMN! Last night was even MORE fun! It's all about Miyagi's. Never fails when you need a good time. Shout outs to Sallie and Michelle. You ladies made the night ^_^
11/03/2000: Holy Sh*t!! Last night was FUN! If you weren't at Q's last night, you missed a hell of a good time. I wanna give a shout out to some girls I met there, Eileen and Teresa (watermelon shots ^_^). DAYAMN. Okay, I'm giving you all more than enough notice for this... on Saturday, Nov. 25th, come join us for a KICKASS party. It's called NITROUS and it'll be at LA's newest club called 333. For those of you that like the music we put in our openings, Strata will be spinning there afterhours. So, come party the night away with us in Downtown LA.
10/16/2000: I still don't have my Ride back, but that's not gonna stop me from partying! ^_^ Come join us at Q's this Thursday for ProofPositive's Fabulous. Damn... gotta bum a ride off some chicks to get there. Gotta pay 'em back by keeping 'em happy all night long. And I mean ALL NIGHT long. *sigh* The sacrifices I have to make to have fun...
10/15/2000: We've added the series Boys Be... to our projects list. If you're interested in sponsoring it, just let us know. This is a GREAT series. It kinda brings back memories of the old days when I first watched anime like Kimagure Orange Road and Maison Ikkoku because the stories are really good. Check it out if you get a chance. And for you Canadian anime fans... you'll be happy to hear that we have a new distributor, Glen Pearce. Go to either our Requests page or the Links page and you'll get hooked up with his site.
10/08/2000: Someone freakin' broke into my car while I was partyin'. Luckily they weren't able to steal it. Anyway, my car's gonna be in the shop for awhile, so since I can't go anywhere, we'll be concentrating on subbing. Look for some new projects to be completed soon.
9/20/2000: Happy 23rd Birthday to Namie-chan ^_^
8/31/2000: Labor Day weekend is coming up and so is one of the BIGGEST parties in L.A.!! Come join Team Abcb and all the finest Asian women (there will be guys there for you ladies out there, too) in Southern California this Sunday night, September 3rd, at the Mayan! This is THE club. Every party we go to there is always top-notch. Anyone who knows what's up always parties there with Team Abcb and ProofPositive. Import models party there, Playmates party there, and WE party there. It is SCANDALOUS. So come on out! And another note, click here for the link to the article that Los Angeles magazine wrote featuring us. They didn't scan the picture of us in, so we'll post that up later. Catch you on the other side.
8/22/2000: East Coast Anime Distribution is now one of our official distributors. Give them a warm welcome ^_^. We'll let you know once they receive all our titles. More distros will be added soon.
8/14/2000: I've confirmed with our distributors that they've all received Sentimental Journey 1-4. So, feel free to request from them. You can also request directly from us. ALL requests for Sentimenal Journey will be honored. We've also just received the translation for the newest Touch movie. Can't wait to work on it! Well, I'm off to Vegas this weekend, so come join me if you can ^_^
7/02/2000: This is Joey... it's our last night at AX. The con actually continues on until Monday, but it was kinda boring this year, so we're gonna go do something else. The highlight was the Escaflowne movie which was freakin' awesome. Special thanks to three lovely ladies: Sarah, Joy, and Marissa for hooking us up in the line. We wouldn't have been able to watch the movie without you girls. Email us anytime and you can request any of our masters that you'd like. I'll give a more detailed AX report later. Time for us to get back to the real world, so... come join us Monday night at the Mayan for a HUGE pre-Independence day party! There's no work on Tuesday, so no excuses. This place is gonna rock from 9pm-2:30am. 1st floor will have hip hop; 2nd floor will have trance, house, and jungle; and the 3rd floor will have electronica. Sound fun? Hell yeah, it does. So, don't miss out! Email me if you need directions.
6/29/2000: Here is the link to the scavenger hunt list. Good luck! And we'll see you all at AX. Unfortunately, we didn't get a hotel room, so we can't have a party. But, some fans are going to let us use their room to have our showings in and we can also use it as contest headquarters. Don't forget to check the message boards to see what room it will be.
6/19/2000: It's all about Los Angeles, baby!!! We've got the number one basketball team, Lakers! We've got the number one university, UCLA! And we've got the number one subbing group, Team Abcb! Need I say more?
6/11/2000: To celebrate AX2000, we are going to have 3 contests. 6 people will be able to win something because each contest will have a grand prize winner and a runner-up. The winners for two of the contests will get masters of any Team Abcb titles that have been completed to date. The winner of the third contest will get Team Abcb masters for LIFE, she will also get her name in the credits of all future Team Abcb titles, and will also get to pick any 15 tapes from my personal fansub collection. The three runner-ups will get a Team Abcb master of their choice. Details on the contests and on our showings can be found on our web board (the link is above) in the AX2000 forum. Any questions or comments on AX can be posted there.
6/11/2000: Sentimental Journey 1-4 is now complete! We will be premiering it at AX, which is just around the corner. After AX, we will send it out to our sponsors and distributors. We would like to show some of our other projects also, including: That's Cunning, Tokimeki Memorial, Cat's Eye, and City Hunter. We need your help to organize this a little better, especially since our hotel room will only be able to fit a certain number of people. Email us and let us know which titles you will show up to watch. If a lot of people sign up for a particular title, then we'll know to have multiple showings for it. Also, people who sign up ahead of time will be put on a list and will have a guaranteed seat inside. Everybody else will be permitted in based upon how much room is available. If there are other projects you'd like us to show, then just email me. We've also added a new project , "Colorful", to our list.
5/28/2000: This is pretty short notice, but there is going to be a badass party tonight at the Mayan. Asian night, baby! This is THE place. It's 9pm-4am. See ya there.
5/16/2000: Just got back from Hawaii... What can I say? I'm almost speechless. It was one of the best times I've ever had in my whole life. The Namie concert was just plain magical. The outdoor concert hall is right by the beach. The moon was bright, the stars were out, I was in Hawaii, and Namie was singing. All was right in the world ^_^
5/9/2000: F*****CK!!! I'm going to miss another badass event cuz I'll be in Hawaii this weekend! How come EVERY freakin' THING has to freakin' fall on the same freakin' weekend? For those of you that will be here, the East Meets West JamFest will be Saturday, May 13th. Go to AsianAvenue.com for more info. Guests include: Coco Lee, Kelly Hu, and Kristi Yamaguchi. Dammit!! I wanted to meet Coco and Kelly! Dammit! After the JamFest, they're throwing an After Dark party. Damn! It sounds fun! If you go, send me an email and let me know how it was. Okay, gotta go pack for Hawaii now. Later.
4/21/2000: oh HELL yeah! Time for another night out on the town. Thursday night, April 27th, will be Asian night at Pointe 705 (one of the hottest spots in Manhattan Beach). It's a ProofPositive event so the women will be HOT as hell, as always ^_^. Any Team Abcb fans that show up there will get masters for life. 'Nuff said.
4/15/2000: F*****CK!!! Why the hell does everything have to fall on the same weekend??!! Since I'll be in Hawaii for the concert, I'll be missing the Summer Fusion Party!! For those of you that don't know, this is THE party to kickoff summer L.A.-style. It will be May 13th at Cicada (the elegant 2-floor restaurant featured in the film "Pretty Woman"). Since I can't be there, I hope that some of you get to go and enjoy it. For questions, directions, etc... email jackiepark3@earthlink.net or tedlai@yahoo.com
4/8/2000: F*****CK!!!! I just realized that the Namie concert is the same weekend as E3! GODAMMIT! I've been looking forward to checking out the PSX2 and the Square booth for Final Fantasy demos all year. But, what the hell... it's always been Girls before Games. E Freakin' 3 will just have to be set aside cuz there's no way I'm missing my girl's concert ^_^
4/2/2000: Can you say, "Freakin' BADASS!!"? Boku no Namie-chan will be in concert May 14th in Hawaii. Team Abcb is gonna be there. Got the tix, got the flight reservations, got satisfaction ^_^ Dayamn! Life don't get much better than this. Hoshikunari... All right then, on to anime business. There was a delay in getting Cat's Eye to our distros. I started a new job and partied every freakin' day. Finally found time to relax. Cat's Eye was sent out on Saturday. We're now working on Sentimental Journey. And now back to party business. Team Abcb will be at Velfarre this Friday night. If you've never been Korean clubbing before, then you have GOT to join us at this place. I've spent God knows how much money there cuz K-clubbing is freakin' expensive, but dammit the women there are HOT AS HELL. The dance floor gets so packed that you have to fight your way through to find a spot. That's the way I like it cuz mokkori-chans are rubbing up against you all over the place ^_^. Okay, then on Saturday we'll be at the Mayan. The eye candy here is just as hot. So join us there if you miss out on Velfarre. April 14th is the APEX Masquerade Charity Gala at the Universal Studios Hilton. We'll be there to represent cuz proceeds will benefit the Youth Olympics at UCLA. That's all for now. -- Joey
2/25/2000: Yare yare. Too many parties this weekend! I know this is short notice, but there's another party this Saturday at L.A.'s Voodoo Lounge. It's the launch party for the new website: Asia America Online (www.A2OL.com). Sign up as a member (it's free) and you'll automatically be put on the guest list which gets you in the free. If you don't, then you'll pay $10 at the door. Hmm... since there are two parties, Team Abcb will have to be split up to represent. Joey's team will head out to the Voodoo Lounge (I think the girls there will be HOTTER), and Daniel's team will head for Club Soho (Daniel wants to hook up with an otaku chick, Joey prefers mokkori import models ^_^). Hope to see some of you at either place! And then afterwards, we'll all hook up at Miyagi's on Sunset. Oh! Almost forgot... we finished Cat's Eye tonight, so that way we'd have uninterrupted partying this weekend. It will be shipped to our distributors on Monday and they should receive them by the end of the week. Enjoy! One more thing... to those of you who have emailed saying you'd like to read the fansubbing article that featured us in Los Angeles Magazine, we'll have it posted on the webpage in about a week. We're having scanner probs right now =(. But we'll definitely have it up! ^_^
2/23/2000: Team Abcb will be at Club Soho this weekend for the Tokyo Pop bash that's being held there. For those of you that aren't familiar with L.A., Club Soho (www.downtownsoho.com) is one of the premiere Asian hot spots over here. If you happen to be in the area this weekend, come join us. The party is this Saturday, the 26th. If you call to be put on the guest list, you'll get in for free before 10pm. Call Yuki at 818-699-0564 to rsvp. We're not affiliated with Tokyo Pop in any way. Just thought I'd spread the word in case any of you want to come party with us. Email Joey if you're going and we'll hook up. Other news: we're just about done with Cat's Eye. It just needs some finishing touches. When it gets done depends on how long it'll take us to recuperate from our hangovers after the party. Ja na ^_^
1/19/2000: I saw the cool web board on the Hana Yori girls' site and I thought I'd put one up for us, too. Click here or on the link above to go there if you have questions, comments, etc. Verge, ChiAnime, and Nopnila have received the masters of City Hunter: The Death of the Evil Ryo Saeba and Tokimeki Memorial that we sent. So, you can request from them.
1/2/2000: Happy New Year to all of you! Let's party hard through the new Millennium! Here's to women, anime, women, friends, women, sake, women, J-Pop, and more women ^_^. Team Abcb's motto for the millennium: "The World is not Enough."
12/21/99: We were featured in an article about fansubbing which is in the January issue of Los Angeles Magazine. It is circulated nation-wide, but if any of you are interested in reading it, but can't find a copy, let me know and I'll scan it in and post it on the webpage.
8/18/99: Time for another project update. Many of you have been writing asking why it's taking so long for our projects to be released. Answer: We love anime and all, but we love women even more ^_^. Last weekend, we were at the opening ceremonies for the Nisei Festival. Plus I got my new 2000 Maxima. Had to floss, so no time for subbing. This whole week, there was work and dates every other night, so again there was no time to sub. I know what you're thinking, "Fansubbers can get chicks?" The general answer to that is "NO." But we're Team Abcb so general rules don't apply to us. This weekend, we'll be at the closing ceremonies and dance with the Nisei Court. The weekend after that, we'll be in Vegas, baby. It's gonna be Sin City, Team Abcb style. Look for City Hunter some time after that. Daniel "Bitchass" is already done with all the timing. I just need to make time to edit the script. After that will be Tokimeki and Cat's Eye. The second half of Hana Yori is being sent to another translator. I know you're all dying to see it, and we're just as eager to subtitle it. It's taking awhile for us to get our subbing done, but once we release stuff, it'll be a lot at once. I'm signing off 'til after the weekend of the 27th. Hope you're all enjoying your summer ^_^
8/8/99: I've got a bit more to say on the CPM issue. NOTE: Nisei Week is August 14-22. Come join us in Little Tokyo if you live near L.A. If you email me during that week, expect a reply after the 22nd. I'll be busy at the festival all week, eating the food, going to the beauty pageant (mingling with mokkori-chans, of course ^_^), going to the dance, and just having an all-around badass time. Sound like fun? Email me if you want directions.
This is Joey. Not being able to find the domestic laserdisc for El-Hazard: Wanderers (Vol. 7) is frustrating. Okay, whoever can get me this freakin' LD will get Team Abcb masters for life!!!
Team Abcb wants you!! I meant to say that we're recruiting that is. What did you think I meant? ^_^ There's so much to do now... plus it'll be more fun with more people. The only requirements are that you LOVE anime, and you can get to the Los Angeles area for our meetings. If you're a UCLA Bruin, then you automatically get cool points ^_^ The perks are simple... you get anime, anime, and more anime! You get masters of anything that we sub, as well as access to our anime library. You get to watch the coolest stuff right when they come out ^_^. Just let us know what you'd be interested in doing... whether it be emailing, helping with SASE requests, subtitling, or whatever. I guarantee that it'll be fun! If you're interested in joining our crew, then email Joey at ryo-saeba@usa.net
We're always looking for more translators, email us if you're interested.
Special thanks to Kotus for SubStation Alpha and Mike Freiheit for the cool logo ^_^
